A shocking and tragic video captured the horrifying moment a safari trip went disastrously wrong, resulting in a deadly tiger attack. The heartbreaking footage showed how a family outing turned fatal at Badaling Wildlife World, a wildlife park located in Beijing, China, in 2016.
The video reveals a woman stepping out of her car while driving through the Siberian tiger enclosure with her family.
In what seemed like an ordinary moment, tragedy struck when she was dragged away by a tiger, sparking a wave of shock and grief.
Badaling Wildlife World offers visitors the unique experience of driving their own cars through safari-style enclosures. However, strict rules are in place to ensure safety, including the prohibition of leaving vehicles in certain areas, such as the tiger enclosure.
The woman, identified by her surname Zhao, had reportedly signed a waiver agreeing not to leave the vehicle while inside the park.
Despite this, Zhao later claimed she misunderstood the purpose of the agreement, believing it was merely a registration form for entry into the park. She alleged that the ticket attendant did not explain the document’s contents to her.
While touring the park, Zhao began to feel unwell and decided to step out of the car.
The video shows her exiting the vehicle and walking toward the other side, next to an open car door.
Within moments, a tiger appears out of nowhere and drags her off-screen in a sudden and terrifying attack. The footage captures Zhao attempting to move away, but the tiger was much too fast for her.
Despite her efforts, she was overpowered in an instant, leaving her family in panic and fear.

In the aftermath of the initial attack, a man is seen exiting the car to try and rescue Zhao.Moments later, a second woman, later confirmed to be Zhao’s mother, also rushes out in an attempt to save her daughter.
Tragically, Zhao’s mother was attacked by another tiger as she tried to intervene and was killed on the spot in her courageous effort to protect her child.
Following the harrowing event, the Yanqing District government confirmed that a serious incident had occurred at the wildlife park. They also noted that Zhao was receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained in the attack. The disturbing footage sparked heated debates online.
Many viewers argued that the tragedy could have been avoided had the family followed the park’s safety guidelines.
Others questioned the park’s role in ensuring visitor safety, pointing to potential gaps in communication about the risks involved.
Zhao subsequently filed a lawsuit against the wildlife park, claiming she had not been properly warned about the dangers of leaving her vehicle.
She also alleged that a nearby park official failed to intervene during the attack.

In response to the incident, authorities in the Yanqing District issued a report concluding that the tragedy was not classified as an ‘industry security accident.’This meant that the park was not held liable for the attack.
Instead, the report stated that the unfortunate event occurred because the individuals involved had violated the park’s clearly established rules and safety protocols.
